FAQs

  • How do I know if my roof needs a Roof Renew treatment?

If your roof is at least 8-10 years old, it is already drying out, starting to lose granules, and would significantly benefit from a Roof Renew treatment. Typical signs your roof is starting to age are fading, granule loss, exposed fiberglass backing, shingle curling, and broken and/or weak shingles. If you take a corner of a shingle and it easily breaks up as you lift it, your roof desperately needs a Roof Renew treatment. We will come out and do a full roof evaluation and help you identify areas that need to be corrected to help maintain the health and lifespan of your roof.

  • Does Roof Renew come with a Warranty?

Yes, Roof Renew comes with a 6-year best-in-industry warranty.

  • What does the 6-year limited warranty cover?

The 6 year warranty is fully transferable should you sell your home and guarantees that your shingles will maintain their flexibility (the primary reason shingles fail) for the first 6 years after treatment. If your shingles lose their flexibility during those 6 years, Roof Renew will re-apply Fresh Roof to those affected areas at no cost to you. But we don’t believe that you’ll need to file a warranty claim, as Fresh Roof has been rigorously tested to perform as claimed.

  • How long does a treatment last?

A treatment will last 6 years and can be repeated to extend the life of your roof by up to 18 years.

  • How long does a treatment take?

The roof tune-up typically takes 30-60 minutes, depending on the repairs needed. The application of Fresh Roof typically takes only 1-2 hours. So the total Roof Renew treatment should take no more than 2-4 hours.

  • What is the cost for a Roof Renew treatment?

Roof Renew costs only $0.75 - $0.95 per square foot depending on roof size, complexity and roof pitch.

  • What are the weather requirements for a treatment?

It needs to be at least 36 degrees Fahrenheit and the roof has to be dry to apply Fresh Roof. Fresh Roof is formulated to absorb very quickly into the shingle and will be absorbed within 2-3 hours of application. Once absorbed into the shingle, Fresh Roof will not wash away in the rain.

  • Will Roof Renew change the color of my roof?

Shingles dry out over time and take on a faded appearance. A Roof Renew treatment will help rejuvenate the original color of the shingles. This will give them a darker appearance that will look more like a new shingle, but it won’t change the actual color of the shingle.

  • Is Roof Renew safe?

The Freshroof product that we use is based on an all-natural soy oil that has been treated with safe polymers and UV protectant that is safe for humans, pets, and plants. It is non-hazardous and poses no risk.
